Provide a welcoming environment and offering a safe recreational and educational experience at Zoo attractions. Duties include operating the carousel, 4d theater, being a conductor on the railroad or helping at other zoo attractions.
Responsibilities include announcing safety rules, watching for safety issues, providing informational facts,serving as conductor and platform assistant, assist visitors getting into or onto attractions (including those in wheelchairs), Complete opening procedures/inspection checklist. General cleaning of attractions and surrounding area. Occationally selling tickets for attractions and cash handling may be required. This position also requires other duties as assigned as they pertain to the Visitor Services department. The starting rate for this position is $13.00 per hour, but may increase based on availability and experience.
Minimum requirements
High School Diploma preferred, strong communications skills. Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
Abilities required
Applicants must be available most weekends and holidays, Work outdoors in various weather conditions. An operator must be able to maneuver guests using wheelchairs on and off attractions and able to stand for long periods of time. People skills are required to considerately handle guest issues within guidelines of Zoo policies. All successful candidates will be required to submit to a criminal background check and drug test.
