Provide a welcoming environment and offering visitor guidance, collection of parking lot & attraction revenueswhile maintaining customer expectations and following established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include cash handling, processing transactions for visitors purchasing parking or attraction tickets, processing sign-ins and VIP guests parking, directing traffic, providing information, performing trash pick-up in the parking lots or booth areas. This position also requires other duties as assigned as they pertain to the Visitor Services department. The starting rate for this position is $12.00 per hour, but may increase based on availability and experience.
High School Diploma preferred but not required, strong communications skills, computer/register and previous cash handling experience preferred.
Applicants must be available most weekends and holidays. They must be able to count currency and make change, sit for several hours, be able to direct traffic movement using signs, flags, and hand signals, be able to work outdoors in all weather, be able to lift 25 pounds unaided, at times they may need to be able to stand for several hours, and maintain an alert, professional posture when not actively engaged in visitor transactions or directing vehicle traffic. People skills are required to considerately handle guest issues within guidelines of Zoo policies. All successful candidates will be required to submit to a criminal background check and drug test.
