School-Based Therapist - Early Childhood - 1/2020

JFS is seeking a School-Based Therapist with an emphasis on early childhood.

For nearly 150 years, JFS helps families and children to continue on a path to healthy development with diagnostic evaluation, counseling and psychiatry; connects older adults and their caregivers to internal and external resources and services to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs; provides food, financial assistance and other direct services to those who are in need. JFS provides numerous programs and services to more than 60,000 individuals each year in the St. Louis metropolitan area inclusive of age, race, religion, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation. School-Based Therapists provide individual and group therapy for children in preschool through eighth grade, consultations for school staff and parents regarding specific students, and training to school staff and parents on relevant social-emotional development topics. School-Based Therapists participate in service coordination for students, including attending IEP meetings as needed. School-Based Therapists provide services on-site at the school and will be assigned to more than one school location. A successful candidate for this position will have experience working with the early childhood population.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling or psychology with direct experience in the delivery of psychotherapy and/orsocial services. 
• Provisional licensure in Missouri as a clinical social worker, psychologist or counselor.
• Licensure in Missouri as a clinical social worker, psychologist or counselor is preferred.
• Interviewing, psychosocial assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic plans and make individual modifications.
• Experience facilitating engaging classroom/community presentations.  

Non-Exempt, Part-time

19.25 hours per week

Salary is commensurate with experience.

This position is part-time during the school year, with an unpaid summer furlough.
