Youth Programs Supervisor

Responsibilities

Coordinate and supervise all educational aspects of the summer overnight program and Spring/Winter break camp programs at the Zoo. This includes ordering and maintaining supplies, designing curriculum and leading educational activities, crafts, games, and tours. Schedule and train seasonal staff and volunteers that conduct Zoo summer overnights and Spring/Winter break camps. Model a positive attitude and practice responsible conservation behavior.  Handle overnight and camp situations that arise during the programs. In addition, this position will help coordinate scout badge programs as needed.

Work Schedule

Weekly hours vary throughout the year, depending on programming. Typical schedule would be Tuesday-Thursday in the office and an overnight on Friday evening. Spring/ summer hours may include up to 2 overnights per week and one day in the office. Most overnight programs occur on Friday and Saturday nights year round and on various weeknights throughout the year.  Overnight hours are approximately 5:00 pm - 9:30 am.  Other programs occur on evening, weekends, and during school breaks and holidays.
