Thompson Coburn LLP has an opening in our St. Louis office for an important role assisting with all aspects of attorney recruiting and hiring and assisting attorneys with annual CLE compliance. Qualified applicants ideally will have at least one year of experience supporting a recruiting function and/or CLE program, and an undergraduate degree is a plus.
Job Responsibilities
Legal Recruiting Duties:

Assists the Legal Recruiting Manager with all aspects of attorney recruiting and hiring.

Maintains data in the Firm’s legal recruiting software program.

Creates and maintains documentation on the recruiting process, including checklists, communication templates, and user manuals for viRecruit and other relevant technology platforms.

Supports all aspects of the summer associate program, from recruiting and hiring to event planning and support.

Ensures all content on the Firm’s website for law student recruiting and the summer program is accurate and current.

Produces weekly, monthly, year-end and ad hoc recruiting reports.
Professional Development Duties:

Tracks attorney CLE compliance using the CLE database; communicates with attorneys and their secretaries regarding their compliance status. Coordinates all aspects of internal CLE programs and provides CLE accreditation for external CLE programs and webinars.

Generates and issues CLE certificates of attendance for attorneys attending accredited programs; processes CLE certificates for entry into the Firm’s CLE tracking database.

Assists attorneys with annual CLE compliance filings.

Maintains and updates accredited provider records in various jurisdictions, including processing annual reports and fee payments.

Maintains CLE compliance files and a corresponding attorney files.

Supports the semi-annual counsel and associate review process, including preparing review documentation and assembling packets for Review Committee members.

Manages meeting and program logistics including scheduling, securing meeting rooms, coordinating meeting room set-up and materials, and trouble-shooting.
Additional Responsibilities:

Assists Directors of Diversity, Inclusion & Professional Development; Associate Recruiting; and Partner Recruiting with special projects.

Ability to process routine daily functions while being able to resolve sensitive issues and complex assignments utilizing above average critical thinking skills.

The physical demands of this position are representative of those that might be met by an employee in order for him or her to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday, having the ability to transport 20 pounds and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office.
