JOB DESCRIPTION: Learning & Engagement Assistant (part-time, limited term, 20 hours/week) (non-exempt, Grade F)
REPORTS TO: Head of Multigenerational Learning
SPECIFICATIONS: Required: High school diploma; strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; comfort interacting with audiences of diverse backgrounds; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other colleagues, museum visitors, and outside partners and contractors.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with coursework in visual art, education, and/or business; studio art experience; teaching experience; experience working with volunteers
SCHEDULE: Must be available to work weekly on Sundays and occasional Saturdays.
JOB PURPOSE: To provide administrative and program support to Learning & Engagement programs for youth and family audiences.
DUTIES, WORK PERFORMED:
Implement weekly Family Sundays programming based on lesson plans provided;
Implement monthly Wee Weekend programming based on lesson plans provided;
Assist with other Multigenerational Learning programs for youth and families as needed;
Work with cultural organizations and community groups on select Family Sundays programming;
Oversee part-time and contract staff and volunteers in conjunction with Youth & Family Learning activities;
Assist with tasks related to preparation for youth and family programs such as reserving spaces, procurement and preparation of materials for art activities, and communication with contract staff and volunteers;
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
