-MANAGER OF DIVERSITY & INCLUSION-
Thompson Coburn LLP currently has an exempt position available in our St. Louis office for a full-time Manager of Diversity & Inclusion to oversee and execute programs that foster an inclusive environment at the Firm and to enhance the Firm’s external Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) profile. Qualified applicants will have at least five years of broad diversity and inclusion work experience, preferably in a professional services industry, and hold a Bachelor degree. The person selected for this position must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities

Provides support to the Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Professional Development in planning and implementing important initiatives and programs to support the Firm’s efforts and strategic plan.

Develops metrics that measure the effectiveness of, and promotes success of, programs and initiatives as well as identify program gaps.

Coordinates the Firm’s response to external and internal surveys related to D&I.

Works collaboratively within the Firm to guide and inform employees on D&I best practices.

Coordinates the Firm’s Employee Resource Groups (ERG’s); conceptualizes and organizes ERG firm-wide events, providing thought leadership and programmatic support.

Evaluates, coordinates and manages firm-wide mentoring programs, including creation and oversight of mentor-related training and events, and the collection and dissemination of related data and feedback.

Develops and uses various methods such as surveys, assessments and pilot groups to elicit feedback on education and training program needs related to D&I.

Represents the Firm at external events, meetings and conferences related to D&I.

Stays abreast of latest trends in D&I in law firms and other industries.

Performs various administrative responsibilities as needed for the support D&I initiatives.

Assists with administrative support efforts related to the Firm’s Total Commitment Women’s Initiation.

Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects and have strong time management skills. The ability to work independantly to complete tasks, as well as collaboratively to accomplish team goals and projects is necessary.

Must have ability to reason and apply common-sense understanding to situations encountered.

Ability to process routine daily functions while being able to resolve sensitive issues and complex assignments utilizing above average critical thinking skills.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Strong analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to manage a project budget are required

Demonstrated experience with data analysis, including the ability to present and report on data is preferred.

This is a full time position which requires working in the office a minimum of 40 hours on a regular basis. Oftentimes it may include working outside of normal business hours to ensure completion of position requirements.

Ability to travel if necessary.

The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order for him or her to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the work day, having the ability to transport 20 pounds and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office.
