Jewish Family & Children’s Service of St. Louis (JF&CS) is seeking a Volunteer Assistant for the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry.
For nearly 150 years, JF&CS helps families and children to continue on a path to healthy development with diagnostic evaluation, counseling and psychiatry; connects older adults and their caregivers to internal and external resources and services to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs; provides food, financial assistance and other direct services to those who are in need. JF&CS provides numerous programs and services to more than 60,000 individuals each year in the St. Louis metropolitan area inclusive of age, race, religion, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation. JF&CS is a dynamic organization, with committed volunteers and talented staff dedicated to an inspiring mission.
The Volunteer Assistant supports the daily operations of the food pantry and its volunteers. This position is responsible for ensuring volunteer workforce coverage, utilizing the volunteer software program, and serves as key on-site contact for volunteers to provide information and support. The Volunteer Assistant will work directly with clients and other food pantry staff, and will be expected to perform duties of the Program Assistants and volunteers as needed.
The successful candidate is able to work as part of a team, analyze and solve problems, communicate information calmly in high-stress situations, and build positive relationships with pantry guests, volunteers, and co-workers.
20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, occasional evening or Sundays.
$15.00 per hour
