-TAX REPORTING INTERN-
Thompson Coburn LLP currently has a temporary position available in our St. Louis office for a part-time Tax Reporting Intern to provide assistance with year-end close and tax reporting services for the accounting department. Qualified candidates will possess a major in Accounting or Business Administration with a least junior status and currently be enrolled in or have taken one course in the area of tax compliance. The person selected for this position must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities

Assists tax department in compiling and preparing files for federal, state, and local tax information, including but not limited to partnership income tax returns, estimates, sales and use tax and unclaimed property.

Assists tax department in calculating book to tax differences, including producing spreadsheets needed relating to charitable contributions and gifts.

Provides occasional assistance to Trust Accounting (tax area) as needed.

Maintains complete, organized documentation of all work.

Maintains communication with co-workers and clients using Microsoft Word, telephone and/or email.
Job Requirements

Ability to work approximately 20 hours a week through mid-March 2020.

Ability to utilize computerized software programs such as Aderant and Chrome River.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel and Outlook.

Must possess a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills so as to be able to work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence. Required to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.

Must have ability to read, write, and communicate fluent English; ability to compose documents in the appropriate business style using correct grammar and spelling; ability to communicate clearly using proper grammar and diction over the telephone.

Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects, and strong time management skills.

Must have ability to reason and apply common-sense understanding to situations encountered.

Ability to process routine daily functions while being able to resolve sensitive issues and complex assignments utilizing above average critical thinking skills.

The physical demands of this position are representative of those that might be met by an employee in order for him or her to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday, having the ability to transport 20 pounds and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office.
