Sandberg Phoenix Recruiting for a Litigation Paralegal

As a paralegal in litigation, you will receive challenging projects and handle responsibilities to include:

Organize documents and coordinate document productions to include bates-stamping, redaction, and indexing of documents. Work under the guidance of an attorney on electronic productions.

Prepare a chronology of facts, medical records and create production logs.

Obtain, review, organize preliminary documentation and information received from clients and opposing counsel.

Create and maintain internal case management databases, run searches on internal and external resources.

Assist in locating fact witnesses and expert witnesses; gather and prepare documents relevant to testimony; conduct interviews of witnesses within scope of paralegal’s job function.

Assist attorney(s) in developing the defense of case and trial strategy.

Draft correspondence and responsive pleadings, routine motions, discovery and affidavits for review and signature by attorney.

Assist in trial preparations to include organization of file and exhibits; coordinate trial set-up and logistics; assist attorneys in courtroom when needed; serve as liaison with witnesses.
Your Knowledge, Skills and Abilities should include:

Knowledge of legal principles and practices at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet project deadlines.

Ability to proofread material for contextual, grammatical, typographic or spelling errors.

Ability to review, organize, analyze and summarize facts and documents.

Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from clients and attorneys, as well as, work with other Sandberg Phoenix members in a positive, teamwork environment to service our clients.

Advanced knowledge in Word and Outlook.

Proficient in document management and case management software.

Ability to travel to private and public buildings, locally or nationwide, via private or public transportation to assist attorney in representing clients.

Work may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
-
Three plus years of experience working as a litigation paralegal with the knowledge and skills noted above.
EDUCATION:
-
A four year degree in Paralegal Studies or a bachelor’s degree in another field with a certification in Paralegal Studies is preferred.
