JOB DESCRIPTION: RECEIVER / INVENTORY COORDINATOR
Non-Exempt, Grade F
REPORTS TO: Retail Sales Manager
SUPERVISES: No one
MINIMUM OF RANGE: $14.69/hour
SPECIFICATIONS: High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Basic computer skills and database skills required. Job necessitates the ability to handle many details. Must be well organized and able to work well with people. Must be available for weekend and evening work. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Telephone skills and negotiation skills required. Flexible schedule needed - evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
JOB PURPOSE: Ship, receive, and process merchandise for Museum Shop. Track inventory. Assist the Retail Sales Director and Retail Sales Manager in managing merchandise and maintaining stock levels.
DUTIES, WORK PERFORMED:
Receive and process Shop inventory
Open, check, and receive incoming merchandise and reconcile with packing slip, purchase order / show order, and invoice.
Work with vendors to reconcile damaged or incorrect merchandise in shipments. Work with vendors on call tags and returns.
Process invoices for payment working with Retail Sales Director and Finance Office.
Print all price stickers, instruct and oversee staff and volunteers in labeling and pricing merchandise. Assist with tagging as needed. Assure merchandise is priced correctly.
Handle shipping of returns, mail orders, and customer shipments.
Follow-up on outstanding purchase orders and back orders, canceling old orders in conjunction with Retail Sales Manager.
Maintain database of vendors and inventory records in a consistent and systematic manner.
Update database as needed to correct inconsistencies.
Cashier at Shop register assisting Museum Shop customers in a timely, professional and friendly manner.
Straighten and fill in merchandise and supplies as needed.
Answer phones, route calls and field patron questions and/or problems.
Assist with recount drawers after closing.
Perform other assignments for the Shop as assigned by the Retail Sales Director or the Retail Sales Manager including, but not limited to, working the sales floor, balancing daily sales, pricing, reordering, etc.
