- TECHNICAL SPECIALIST-
Thompson Coburn LLP currently has a non-exempt position available in our Los Angeles office for a Temporary Full-Time Technical Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of experience providing on-site end user technical support. Qualified applicants will have a minimum of an associate degree in computer information systems or a Bachelor’s degree. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal environment. The person selected for this position must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities

Coordinate with IT Teams in planning, implementation and support of computer systems projects.

Ensure issues, questions, and problems concerning hardware, software, videoconferencing, mobile devices and IT infrastructure are addressed and resolved in an organized, coordinated manner.

Install and provide support for IT end user equipment.

Provide support for infrastructure equipment under the direction of IT management.
-
Provide support for conferencing technologies, including meeting-specific testing and configuration and regular maintenance.

Coordinate support with other IT department technical support resources, office management, and third-party vendors as needed.

Participate in weekly meetings.

Assist with technology-related tasks in the arrival and departure of firm personnel.

Provide on-site training for personnel under the direction of IT management.

Coordinate and lead project resources in a cross-functional environment.

Assist with training of new hires under the direction of the Training Services Manager.

Maintain technical documentation specific to the Los Angeles office under the direction of the Technical Support Manager.

Maintain technical and functional familiarity with computer hardware, mobile computing devices, and computer operating systems used within the Firm.

Install applications following documented procedures.

Ensure that IT assets in the Los Angeles office are properly catalogued and inventoried.

Must have ability to read, write and communicate fluent English; ability to compose documents in the appropriate business style using correct grammar and spelling; ability to communicate clearly using proper grammar and diction over the telephone.

Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects and have strong time management skills.

Must have ability to reason and apply common-sense understanding to situations encountered.

Ability to process routine daily functions while being able to resolve sensitive issues and complex assignments utilizing above average critical thinking skills.

Ability to work overtime as needed.

The physical demands of this position are representative of those that might be met by an employee in order for him or her to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday, having the ability to transport 25 pounds and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office.
