Responsibilities
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems
- Clean, lubricate, and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices
- Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems
- Replace/repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, and wallpaper
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities
- Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance
- Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions
- Inspect new installation for compliance with building codes and safety regulations
- Maintain and operate life safety/fire systems
- Perform light carpentry
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1+ years of building-related trade experience
- Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair, or any similar combination of experience and education
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Background checks may be required by client
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed
- May be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or on call duties
- Physical requirements to include stooping, standing, climbing, and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and ability to safely install rigging/lifting devices
- The qualified candidate will be detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, extremely professional, and customer service oriented
