POSITION: Member and Visitor Services Assistant
18 Part-time Positions
Temporary (ending no later than 10/31/13)

Delight customers by establishing and meeting their needs while meeting the Museum’s goals of maximizing membership and ticket sales.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: High School diploma; experience with sales, retail, customer service or related field. Job requires excellent customer service skills. Excellent oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks often simultaneously, while maintaining excellent customer care in all operations while exercising good judgment. Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision, have a track record of positive interactions with public, staff, and volunteers. Able to work on weekends, holidays and some evenings as required. High energy and passion for the Art Museum and the Arts are key to success.

Preferred: Sales knowledge, customer service and knowledge of art history. Microsoft Word, internet protocols, and data base experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promote and secure on-site membership sales to contribute to overall Museum goals
Provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers
Provide members with the full complement of member services.
Share Museum knowledge about membership, collection, exhibitions, policies, and events
Provide appropriate information about tickets and passion about museum experience
Conduct and complete computerized transactions including sales, and returns. Open and close admissions, reconcile register and receipts.

MINIMUM OF RANGE: $9.84/hour
