Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the Space Planning team; coordinate work assignments and appropriate resource leveling
- Coordinate activities of the Space Planning team with the Program Manager and Account Manager
- Coordinate with Program Manager to develop playbooks as they relate to space planning
- Oversee the reviewing of space layouts and review of coordination and approvals
- Direct space planning responsibilities on complex or high level projects in a “player-coach” role
- Oversee and communicate the layout to the client contact, Project Manager, and others for review and approval
- Monitor performance of space planners in conformance to SLAs and KPIs
- Manage team coordination with existing office; all items to be reused, such as furniture, files, etc.
- Manage the vendor management system as it relates to space planning with the team
- Provide oversight and coordination between Space Planning team and Project Manager and Architect of Record to develop contract documents and bidding packages
- Report to Project Manager any peculiarities of space that will not allow standard office layout
- Provide information to landlord, contractor, Project Coordinator, or Transaction Management team in order for the process to move forward
- Provide final plans to the Project Manager and ensure updates of REFLEX with notes and/or dates
- Proficient with the REFLEX system and the process of ordering furniture from vendor
- Communicate questions to architect or city entity if an issue arises
- Maintain knowledge of the typical way cities permit: plan review, on-site inspections, codes, board of adjustment, special use, etc.
- Keep all parties updated on all office standards such as paint, flooring, furniture offerings, etc.
- Provide resource information to Space Planners and to others in the department regarding design, spatial requirements, code requirements, furniture, finishes, and construction
- Work with high profile clients and/or new clients
- Lead or participate in special projects as needed
- Assist in the training of new Space Planners
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree; Interior Design or Architecture from a FIDER accredited institution preferred
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in interior design, architecture, and/or space planning preferably in a banking,
- financial services, or related corporate real estate industry
- NICDQ a plus
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Possess an understanding of various formats such as .dwg, .dwf, .R14 drawing, as well as how to incorporate electronic drawings from outside sources into standard templates
- Ability to read and review construction documents provided, for purposes of being the technical review for projects
- Ability to understand and translate the technical aspects of design/construction such as low voltage, construction materials, design concepts/budgets, constructability, electrical and HVAC systems
- Possess an understanding of the five phases of an interior/architectural project and implement that knowledge within the project
- Effective interpersonal skills and problem solving ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to manage a team of space planning professionals across various locations
- The qualified candidate will be detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, extremely professional, and customer service oriented
