POSITION: Gallery Supervisor
Supervises the Gallery staff of the Museum

REPORTS TO: Administrative Supervisor (Gallery)
  
SUPERVISES: Gallery Attendants.  May supervise Security Officers on as needed basis.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma required.  College degree preferred.  At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred.  Must be able to obtain a Security Officer License which is valid in the city of St. Louis. Knowledge of security principles, fire prevention, job safety and first aid will be helpful.  Must be able to complete CPR/AED certification.  Must be detail-oriented and able to communicate with the public and staff in a polite and courteous manner.  Computer skills are helpful.  Must be able to work flexible schedules and hours, including weekends, holidays and overtime.   Must be able to provide oral and written reports in a clear manner.  Attendance must be reliable and punctual.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prior to posting, give oral and written instructions and assignments to department staff.
• Conduct coaching sessions with staff and make disciplinary actions of staff according to Museum and Department procedures.
• Complete and conduct performance evaluations of staff.
• Coordinate and provide training of new staff and in-service training for existing staff.
• Schedule Gallery Attendants according to business needs and approve timesheets and time off requests, ensure accuracy of records and monitor hours.
