POSITION AVAILABLE: Gallery Attendant
The Saint Louis Art Museum seeks to fill eleven positions of gallery attendant in the Protection Services department. This position requires weekend shifts, constant standing or walking, and the ability to react appropriately in an emergency.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to deal with staff and visitors in a polite and courteous manner. Prior museum experience helpful. Must be dedicated to duty, possess good judgment and discretion, and diligent in performance of responsibilities.
JOB PURPOSE: Gallery Attendants monitor the public areas of the Museum to protect staff, visitors, building, collections and contents. This position is very visible to the public as you continuously walk through assigned galleries, offering assistance to visitors and ensuring Museum policies are followed (i.e. ensuring visitors maintain a proper distance from the objects).
The Museum offers uniforms and a starting rate of $9.84, as well as the opportunity to be an important part of one of the premier cultural institutions in St. Louis.
