POSITION AVAILABLE: Romare Bearden Minority Museum Fellowship
The Saint Louis Art Museum is pleased to announce a 12-month museum fellowship that provides beginning professionals an opportunity to work throughout the Museum. The Romare Bearden Minority Fellowship, now in its 21st year, is designed to build a pool of outstanding minority professionals for art museum work. The Bearden Fellow is fully integrated into the Museum with the opportunity to work with various departments, including education, publications, curatorial, registrar and development. Specific assignments will be tailored to the Fellow’s skill and the Museum’s needs, but duties will include curatorial research, program development, teaching, and the preparation of interpretive materials and program.
QUALIFICATIONS: To be eligible for the fellowship, the applicant must have completed at least one year of graduate school by June 2013 in art history, art education, museum studies, area studies or related fields. Applicant must have good written and verbal communication skills, be able to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
The Romare Bearden Fellow will receive a salary of $31,000, full time benefits package and an educational travel allowance.
