Controller

Our Business office  is seeking a hands-on Controller with 10+ years managerial, nonprofit accounting, and operational (membership, fundraising, retail, food, education, events, etc) experience to manage financial staff  at the Zoo who reports to the CFO. Responsible for:

• Daily Operation of the FONZ Business Office financial staff ensuring all revenues and expenses are accounted for accurately and effectively. Thorough knowledge of GAAP and accounting for non-profit organizations.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis
• Directs preparation of external audits, annual tax returns and other fiduciary and legal filings
• Budgeting and Forecasting
• Treasury and cash management functions
• Thorough knowledge of the operation of multiple networked computer systems.
• Prefer previous experience planning for and implementing system oriented projects including financial accounting, membership/fund-raising and retail/food systems.

Successful candidate will manage and prepare, review and analyze financial statements in a timely and accurate manner for Senior Management, as well as being a skilled problem solver who values integrity, a team environment and open communications.  Candidate must have a BA/ BS in accounting, 5 years of Great Plains, and CPA preferred.
