POSITION AVAILABLE: Publications Manager
NOTE: This position is not a writer or editor position.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required, with a minimum of three years of experience in publication management or production. Equivalent project management or other related experience would be considered. Computer skills required with competence in Word and Excel. Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at once are essential as is attention to detail and accuracy. Some knowledge of art history, digital media/scanning and editing are desirable.
JOB PURPOSE: Manage the production of museum publications, including exhibition catalogs and collection catalogs. This position serves as liaison and has oversight of external contractors for editing, proofreading, translating, peer review, design & production companies, publishers and distributors. This position also serves as coordinator internally with curatorial, development, registrar and other departments, and externally with museums with which we are working.
